GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

ENTRY RULES

Exhibits in all departments will be open to Cottonwood County and the surrounding area.

Open class livestock should be entered in advance by Aug. 8th. Late entries are accepted up until 12 noon on Entry Day, provided space is available.

Open Class entries in non-livestock departments can be made with Superintendents of each department on Tuesday, August 10th from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Wednesday, August 11th from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. No Foods or Floral entries will be accepted Tuesday evening.

No article or animal will compete for more than one premium except livestock competing in teams or groups.

Every article in competition must correspond in number and description with the premium list and be in its proper class in order to obtain premiums. No charge or alteration will be permitted after the books are placed in the hands for the judge.

JUDGING RULES

Any interference by exhibitors to influence or dictate the decision of the judges will be sufficient cause for excluding his or her entry from competition and should be reported to the secretary through the superintendent at the division.

No appeal form the decision of the awarding committee or judge will be allowed. An exhibitor may make protest to the superintendent of the division at the time of the award, who may then require the judges to give a reason for such placing.

PREMIUM PAYMENT

The Secretary will have premium checks delivered by September 25. Be sure to cash your checks within 30 days of that date as the cancelled vouchers must be sent to the Public Examiner before the appropriation is paid. Premium checks for under $1.00 will not be mailed out. They must be picked up at the fair office prior to close of the fair.

Special premiums may be offered by interested persons for entries which conform to the general classification of the Fair Association.

Premiums will not be awarded on articles or animals of inferior merit, regardless of the number in competition for a premium. The judge may award no premium, second or first premium, as merit may warrant, stating the reason in writing when requested.
